Gymnastics

Just dropping in....

I'm just dropping in to let everyone know that we are still alive. I know it's been a while since my last post, so I don't really know what I haven't put on here. So, here's a summary of what's been going on lately.

Faith is doing very well in the 1st grade. Her academic reports are great, her teacher seems to really enjoy having her in class and she hasn't been "in trouble" once yet this year....not even for talking! :)

Girl Scouts started up again for the school year. They will be making a trip to the Pumpkin Patch tomorrow and Faith is looking forward to this. Cookie sales are just around the corner, so some of you will be getting a visit from Faith. :)

Faith has started gymnastics classes. She's doing really well. This type of thing is right up her alley. She loves to flip and jump and do tricks. Her most recent accomplishment with gymnastics is climbing a rope to ring the bell three times in a row...."She's a very strong little girl" is what her instructor was telling me. She gets her strength from her Daddy.

I have been working a lot lately. With school pictures, sports pictures, studio pictures and weddings, I have been putting in a lot of overtime....along with all of my coworkers at the studio. October has slowed down a little bit, but we are still staying very very busy. FYI - if you want to get an appointment before winter hits, you should call the studio asap, because the appointment spots are filling in quickly. We are doing a "Christmas Special" right after Thanksgiving, it's a great opportunity to get that one really good family photo for Christmas cards! Call for more details.

Josh is doing well. He is trying to make plans for his two weeks of leave, but we don't have any dates just yet. We have been sending him packages every week. Faith loves this, she wants to help with every little thing...right down to taping the box up. And, she wants to write a message on the box itself before taking it to the post office. I'm glad that she's old enough to get involved with this, it gives her a "connection" to Josh when he isn't able to call or email all the time. She is handling his deployment okay...she has her moments, mostly at bedtime where she really starts to miss him. She has been getting upset when it's time to go to bed, but she seems okay after we pray for Daddy and get his special bear out for her to sleep with.

Me....well, I'm probably not handling the deployment as well as I could be this time around. It seems like I have been much more busy this time, but for some reason I still have more "down time" than I need. When Faith is in bed and the house gets quiet, it gets really hard. The days go by quickly though, and I'm thankful for that. We're probably half way to his two weeks home and I'm really looking forward to it.

Well, I guess that's it for now, I'll try to post some Halloween pictures in a few weeks. Faith is going to be a Musketeer (from the Barbie movie "Three Musketeers")....she's going to be super adorable!!

Josh...

Josh has landed safely in country. It was nice to hear his voice when he called. He seems to be doing well and is anxious to get things started and see how his living conditions will be. Thanks to everyone who prayed for his safe arrival there, we really appreciate it.
